A son for an ungrateful father

A father is the worst man in the world.

A father is the meanest, most ungrateful and insensitive person, who understands nothing.

A father is the one who doesn't feel like making wishes come true.

A father is the one who thinks only about work.

A father is the one who has in mind coming home late.

This is a father in the eyes of a child.

But the father is the one who always reveals his wonders afterwards: what he was keeping behind that work, what he was building behind those absences.

A father aims at the good of his family, the good of his children, the strength of the whole family, the good of the future.

A child cannot understand what the father is doing.

A child sees what he cannot understand.

A child will be a better father if, from that father's experience, he draws his answer to everything he used to see and found incomprehensible.

The struggle of a father who wins his time for a better future is exactly this: living through bitterness too, in order to give back something concrete.

Concrete like a life of suffering where children have become victims of a system that suffocates parents and breaks up families. A life in which the family has become deformed and fathers lose even their identity. Today a parent is just the "dominant" figure, no longer that strong father figure, or the comforter that the mother figure is.

This reflection goes to the fathers who today are almost rejected by these 3.0 children, to those fathers who fight against their children's stubbornness. To those fathers who no longer have that role because they have been driven out of their own family and treated as brutes by those women who use legal weapons to cry wolf when there is no wolf, only a man humiliated and pushed away from his role.

A wish for fathers (not a polemic), to shake up these men who no longer choose but are chosen and then discarded. Men who no longer take a stand but step aside. Men who must take a stand in this life again.

May this figure of a man become aware of being a father in the Lord, may he begin to choose a woman who is a comforter like the Holy Spirit, and may he once again form families with children of faith in Christ.

Inspired by the verse:

Endure what you suffer as being a father's punishment; your suffering shows that God is treating you as his children. Was there ever a child who was not punished by his father?

Hebrews 12:7

So as a father, so as a son: endure the trials and know that in heaven there is a Father who corrects and supports you.

Happy Father's Day, Dad.
