The crisis of the number ones
A title like this comes to mind only and simply by looking a bit at the world of the Christian singers I follow on Instagram. For a while I don't see them, then they reappear, present a new album, talk about why they've been away, the suffering that marked them in that period, etc.
I look at these people and imagine the suffering magnified in their lives.
The Word says: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
If you don't know what I'm referring to, let me explain better, or try to explain it in a simple way. While you wonder about your sudden headache, the ringing in your ears, the objects falling from your hands, why or how those things happened to you, know that those who have read the Bible at least 3 times know that their battles are not against the neighbour, the school friend, the work colleague or various other situations.
Again in the Word of God it is written that everything He created is good. It is good, I repeat, it is good. He created the sky, the earth, the sea, the day, the night, the vegetation, the depths of the ocean, the land and sea animals. He created us too.
If everything He created is good, how can a man be bad, just because you can't stand him? The Bible says we must love one another. If we were all brothers and sisters "by blood", as people say when you're family, maybe it would be easier, but we're all from different families. And yet, if we believe He created all these wonders, you and I are blood brothers.
OK, it may all seem abnormal to you, but let's talk about what everyone knows anyway: we are spirit, soul and body. Everyone knows this, otherwise they couldn't run lessons on "purging" the spirit with all these brain-emptying arts.
That said, your life is influenced by a spirit "understood as a choice", by your being, relating to the soul, and of course by your container, your body.
We were born in spirit (and we are), we were given a character, qualities and above all a body to live all this in strength and health (if you want to tell me that there are children born with bodies not in strength and health, we can talk about that on another topic, because everything is linked, connected to what I'm saying, with the related consequences).
So we need a body to live in this world just as God desired, created and loved us. He loves us so much that, despite our choices and lifestyles, He also gave us gifts, that is, specific abilities, innate, you might say, right?
But the spirit? What do we need it for?
I used the word choice so as not to be too broad in my explanations. The spirituality you choose to follow opens or closes conditions for you.
Off the top of my head, Proverbs chapter 8 comes to mind, where it speaks of Wisdom. I remember, again from memory, but I'll check so as not to quote the wrong chapter, that Wisdom was there even before the creation of the earth. There's a clear "connection" with what is written in Genesis chapter 1. The Holy Spirit was already on the earth, was already with God, God already was. But there's a but: there was a moment during creation when a spirit contrary to Creation crept onto the earth, an "evil" spirit, rebellious, contrary, proud, selfish, presumptuous, furious, self-centred, touchy and so on.
Of course I noticed I used the word evil in quotation marks, and I already know that little voice in your mind answered "it's Satan". I wanted to use evil that way precisely because Satan is another creation of God; he's not a world apart. He's a good thing God created, but God has flagged him as bad, solely bad, to be avoided because he is the cause of loss, of evil. He makes you waste time, lose money, lose friends, lose joys, lose your life.
If the whole argument is clear, you'll already have understood that your person, meaning body and soul, must make a choice concerning the spirit. The choice, which is free and without conditioning, is to choose the Holy Spirit or the other spirit.
Simple! I'm on the side of good, of the holy spirit, yes, God's one; I believe in everything, I believe in the Madonna and all the saints, in the village festivals, in good, tasty things to eat, in processions and mountain treks to reach the "saint" up at the top. STOP! that's enough. I know it sounds like I'm making fun, but it's what people know how to choose, and it isn't right , and I want to stay on topic without going on too long.
So simplicity is choosing good, but our life inevitably leads us to choose something of this world. But wait! I said the things of this world are all good because God created them. True, but it's also true that something contrary wants to twist the beautiful into ugly, the good into bad, and so also deceive us into thinking that the thing is good.
A Good Spirit covered by a bad spirit. A Spirit of Truth and one of lies. Both hovering over your head for your whole life in this body.
Can you catch the air? Can you find out where the wind starts? Where it comes from? Where it's going?
But why all these things to think about? My life is good, I'm fine, I have friends who advise me on everything, I eat out every weekend, I'm not short of money, but there's always some little thing that makes all the fragrance go rotten. Yes, one fly in perfumed oil is enough to spoil everything.
We don't fight against those around us, nor against those who ended up "under our feet" (I mean the dead or the defeated), but against what is above our heads, hovering and clouding our view of the sky, making us see everything blue and infinite while wanting to put a transparent lid over us so we lose the majestic sound of God the Father. Like a kidnapper who shows a child lots of toys so he won't feel the absence of mum and dad. But there comes a time when the child starts crying and looks for safety, the father, the mother, God, the Holy Spirit, because he's afraid, it's dark and he can no longer sleep.
If you can't see this lid because it's transparent, or because you'd never considered it, know that the Word of God explains it better than I do. It also explains the opening you can make towards the sky, and it's called Jesus. Through Him, and only through Him, you can reach the Father. Not just any father, but a special father, who gave you a brother on earth and in heaven named Jesus, a "mother", a comforter who is the Holy Spirit, whom you can find in everything you live. Yes, the Holy Spirit is in the air just as Satan is in the air, but believe me, if you recognise the son you'll also recognise the Father and the Holy Spirit. The door of communication is Christ, the example for your life, the example for your awakening, for your change.
Ahhh right, I had started with the artists. Yes, even God's children, although they have the ability to have a more finely tuned ear to recognise the Father, are sometimes crushed "by the heavy air". In fact it's a continuous fight against the one who always wants to convince you of the opposite, each day with its own trouble, a bit like the doubts that can come to you reading simple things like this article.
Life is simple, but man wanted to complicate it.
