The Right to Immortality
Hi, I'm Stella, stage name Star Bstreet
Some will say that women should hide their age; I'll let others say what they like, but here's my view: I'm 38 and I'm not afraid to say it.
I see and hear many people making moaning jokes about age, but I want to thank the One who has given me the chance to live these years on Earth up to today.
Since I became aware that my life on this Earth is only a passage, I have reconsidered the concept of death.
I know that especially in this period you have felt haunted by this word, but I want to take the drama out of the concept of death, or at least I'll try. Do you really believe death is your end?
God's purpose for you
God's purpose for all people is eternity; we are destined to be eternal just as He is Eternal.
Do you remember the thief who died on a cross next to Jesus? Do you remember what Jesus told him before dying?
Jesus answered him: "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise."
Luke 23:43
Do you know what was special about what the thief did? He had simply recognised Jesus as the One who could forgive the wrongs he had committed.
The events we read in the Bible sometimes seem absurd to us because we take a "blow of rationality".
Jesus calls us to become simple again like children; in fact He says this:
Your commitment with Jesus is to BELIEVE that He died for you to give you life. A life with an eternal purpose!
Are you willing to grasp all this and let go of that set of mental structures, for example: I'm too wrong to come close to Jesus, I'll never manage to be a good person, I don't understand anything about religions and the Bible, I don't want to shut myself away in a church, etc. etc., God has never asked anyone for any of these things, nor will He say them to you; the Bible doesn't talk about religions or systems to apply to be more likeable to God, nor about unmissable appointments you'll have to attend to obtain favours from God or to become the superhero who will save the world.
The bad news is: You'll never manage it! Hahahaha! (read it with irony)
The good news is: even if your life CV is awful, let me remind you that where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more. It means that God's forgiveness has no limit, no expiry date and no measure, otherwise we'd all be dead already.
Do you think God is there with a list of DUTIES to hand you? If that were so, I wouldn't even be here writing to you.
Maybe you're wondering whether you have to stop smoking, snorting, drinking, stealing, socialising sexually, getting tattoos, piercing your nose, ears, temples, navel, eyebrows, etc. etc."
He wants Only for you to realise how much He loves you; as I mentioned about the thief on the cross, it's never too late to take hold of Jesus' help, but certainly the sooner you seize the opportunity, the sooner you'll enjoy its benefits, and as this Love matures inside you, you yourself will recognise what the best choices to make will be.
Going back to Death, I'll throw you a challenge, taking into consideration this short text written in Corinthians.
If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the FIRSTFRUITS of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
1 Corinthians 15:19-23
You read that right! Resurrection! Our life with Jesus will continue even after physical death, just as it was promised to that thief, but that's not all: OK, I die, I leave my body and go to live in paradise! No, no! All this has a sequel...
When Christ RETURNS, the dead bodies will be raised imperishable, and those who are alive will be changed too. Read 1 Corinthians 15:51
Maybe what you're reading seems absurd, because no one ever explained anything about it to you, or because you yourself had never considered that this book could contain so much stuff; it's incredible, I know, it sounds like a science-fiction story. But in truth all this was written centuries ago, and if you have a Bible I invite you to read it; if you don't have one yet, I invite you to buy one, because it's a shame not to know personally this source of riches.
Live with the certainty that you have inherited exactly everything Christ won for you, Immortality included.
Happy reading!
