Whoever digs a pit will fall into it

How long will you run from justice?
You think it doesn't exist, right?

You behave as if there were no Judge: the One who does not forget the cry of the oppressed, who helps orphans and widows, who searches the proud and crushes their pride.

Keep mocking the foreigner, because you don't know what will happen to you tomorrow; keep lording it with your human wisdom: soon, without any warning, your thrones will be overturned.

Not even your darkness will be able to hide you, look around you! The One who made the ear is not deaf; He hears and knows your way of thinking and acting: you plan crimes, you rob the honest by deceit, you are full of violence, but you don't know that your schemes are your own trap.

Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them!
Proverbs 26:27

Stubbornness in doing evil

And what if someone were sent to warn you of what will happen to you? Would you believe them? Perhaps you will be in time to recognise who you really are and repent; perhaps scarlet can become pure as snow again; perhaps you will be in time to choose between Life and death.

Are you waiting for great masters to knock at your door? Yes, they will, they will praise your success, your fame, and you will be even more darkened in perverting what is good.

For the stubborn there will be no escape, they will be caught in their own snares; those who humble themselves will see the true Light of justice in their lives.

How long?

Don't wait for a sickbed to torment you! When you look for peace and do not find it, when you look for sweet rest and do not find it, you will give yourselves over to reflection.

Only then will you understand how many times you were called to do good and you despised it; only then will you understand that until the very end you were granted the Grace of settling in the Kingdom of God through the forgiveness of your sins.

Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds. Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them! They will be paid back for what their hands have done.
Isaiah 3:10-11

"Enter through the narrow gate! For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
Matthew 7:13-14
